Hey All! For our final project, we're going to build a website - or more accurately, we're going to build a DIGITAL PORTFOLIO that will showcase the work that you've done throughout your time with us.
That’s right - it's not a web page, but a whole website! It may be a bit challenging, but I’ll walk you through it and help you out with the tricky stuff. So, let’s get started…
Make sure you save and PUBLISH your site!!! Your site will not appear on the Internet until you publish it. Next time, when you want to work on your site, go to weebly.com and sign in. Then go to “My Sites.” You will see your site there. Click on “Edit” to work on your site. Focus on your homepage and get that done first. Required items:

Hey Team~
So this being a CTE class (Career, College, Tech Ed), it wouldn't be right if I let you out of here with something useful. For today, that useful thing is a RESUME. There are many resources that can be found online. You can find dozens/hundreds of sites that discuss job skills and resumes. You can find many templates online as well. You can also find many resume templates in MS Word. Do this:
RESUME Open it up and fill in the blanks with your information. KEEP IN MIND! -- a resume is a representation of you as a worker. This piece of paper is a ticket to an interview and/or an actual job. It must be PERFECT! - perfect spelling, grammar, punctuation - addresses and dates must be formatted perfectly. When presented to your potential employer, it must be clean and neat. Hey All - this is primarily for new folks, and a review for the older folks. You should include one clipping mask in your SELF COLLAGE.
The CLIPPING MASK Download these two images and open them in Photoshop clock flower Warm up exercise steps:
Alright Gang~
We're getting down to it. We've got a couple of projects that we're going to finish up the year with. The first one is this one: a Photoshop Collage about yourself. Here are the project guidelines: Project Checklist
I know some of you are very new to class and haven't even worked on Photoshop. If that's the case, I'll expect you to work at the level of your experience. More information coming soon! Howdy!
We're going to spend a few days re-creating some well-known logos. Here is the Word file that contains them: Logo Examples Here are the guidelines:
Back in the day, your teacher worked on WALL STREET - yes, that WALL STREET, and I spend a good deal of time re-creating logos for companies that were doing business with the firm. Here is a chance to do some real-world work. Let's spend a couple of days attempting to re-create the following logos. Try to make them as EXACT AS YOU CAN. The closer you get, the better the grade:
Vintage Logo 1 Vintage Logo 2 I suggest you create a new canvas, download the image, then do a File > Place (as a template) onto your artboard. Then use your pen tool, pencil, shapes, fill/stroke, & Type on a Path Tool to get your work done. Let's check these on Wednesday. Hey All~
Take a look at these searches for "badges": Badges Google Search Vintage Badges Google Search See the variety? Sizes, shapes, colors, designs? For this short project, you're going to design a badge of your own. It can be your own brand, or product. It can be for an established brand or product, but you must make an original design for it. Here's what you need to get a great grade:
To continue our in-class work, you are going to create an insignia or a "badge" using the Type on a Path tool and the following text: Type on a Path Text You may use any design, any format, any colors/shapes. Just make sure you're using all of the text and the Type on a Path Tool. Due tomorrow! HOW TO USE THE 'TYPE ON A PATH' TOOL:
Hello Team~
Let's pretend that you need to create a postcard to advertise some business of yours. Let's create a little something to practice first. Let's start by creating a standard postcard-size artboard that is 5.8" wide x 4.1" tall. Now, you're going to recreate this image using rectangles, fill color, & fonts. Font styles and sizes are found in the image. POSTCARD |
