Hello Team~
Let's pretend that you need to create a postcard to advertise some business of yours. Let's create a little something to practice first. Let's start by creating a standard postcard-size artboard that is 5.8" wide x 4.1" tall. Now, you're going to recreate this image using rectangles, fill color, & fonts. Font styles and sizes are found in the image. POSTCARD

We're going to learn to use this simple, but powerful tool today. Here is the file you will use to practice:
LOVE ILLUSTRATOR
Take the period to create some original DOODLE ART. Use the PENCIL TOOL and a variety of BRUSHES to create something cool. You may use the DRAWING 2 image (from the previous assignment), you may use a different image, or you may use a blank artboard ™For full credit, use the following:
Let's see where we are by TOMORROW. We're going to play some more with the PENCIL TOOL, but we're going to jazz it up a bit by using some brushes with it. We're going to play with the same image we used last time. If you still have that one, open it up. If you don't have it, download it and place it onto a 11"W x 8"T artboard. Here's the file: Drawing 1
For the remainder of the period, place the following image onto an 11"W x 8"T artboard and add at least five different doodles using PENCIL & BRUSHES. You can do something similar to the practice image, or you can come up with something unique. Have fun with it, but of course, keep it school-appropriate. The file is below: Drawing 2 Hey Y'all~
Let's open up a blank, 11" wide x 8" tall canvas. Then let's File > Place this file: Drawing 1 We're going to follow along with a video to learn some simple, but important skills using the PENCIL TOOL. Hey Y'all~
So here's a little something that's kind of cool. It's an awesome looking scene that you can create completely in Illustrator. The creator moves pretty quickly, but most of the skills you have already. It's a lot of work, so take it a little bit at a time, and have fun with it. Anything you do on it is extra credit, but it should not take the place of your regular work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5oW1tmm3Dw Hey Team~
We're going to use the PEN TOOL, the SHAPEBUILDER TOOL, POLYGONS, STROKE and FILL, to make a copy of an image of your choosing. It can be a cartoon, an anime, or even an image of a real someone or something. Experiment with colors and stroke size. Try to create something really cool that you can show off. We'll play with this for a few days. Let's shoot for Wednesday on this. Morning!
On newer versions of Illustrator, there is a tool called the CURVATURE TOOL. Unfortunately, we don't have the newer version, so we're going to recreate the cartoon drawings in the following file using the PEN TOOL. Here's what you do.
Hey Y'all~
So, we're getting pretty proficient with the polygon tools. We're going play around with another tool today, the SHAPEBUILDER tool. You may have noticed thus far that your Illustrator work is saved with an .ai extension. This mean that they are Illustrator working files. These types of files usually cannot be used practically - on the Web and such. If we want to use them elsewhere, we need to change into a different format. Typically, we save them as .jpg or .gif files. So today, let's do that.
