Hey Y'all~ We're going to go back to Illustrator to refresh some memories and to introduce it to the newer folks. For some reason, Illustrator teachers like to work with animals when introducing Illustrator. I'll do the same. Here is the file we're going to work with: Sleeping Fox Here's what you do:
When finished with your sleeping fox (please don't just copy/paste the final one and claim it's your own...), you will find a drawing or an image of another animal, and you will use the polygon tool, the pen tool, and stroke and fill to recreate the image in Illustrator. For your own animal image, do these things: A. Find the image you want to recreate and save it into your Illustrator folder B. Create a new artboard - size doesn't really matter, but if you want to keep it at 800pt x 600pt w that's okay C. File > Place the image onto the new canvas - make sure that you check the TEMPLATE box before you place D. Use polygon tool (triangles, rectangles, circles), pen tool, stroke & fill to create your animal E. Make sure you have a GROUND, SKY, CLOUDS or STARS, and some sort of PLANTS (trees, bushes, etc.) F. Do not trace the whole image. This is an artistic, polygonal interpretation of your animal. It doesn't have to be, nor should it be realistic looking. Everything will be due on Wednesday!
